Admission - Incoming French Students

Application to Graduate Studies by French FDDP students

French students in the French DDP will apply for admission to Graduate Programme offered by either Faculty of Engineering, or Faculty of Science or School of Computing.

French students applying to the Faculty of Engineering for the Master of Engineering (M.Eng) by Research programme may be attached to one of the following departments:

French students applying to the Faculty of Science for the Master of Science by Research programme may be attached to one of the following departments:

French students may also apply for Master of Science by Coursework:

  • MSc Mathematics
  • MSc Statistics
  • MSc Chemistry

French students applying to the School of Computing will be attached to the Dean’s Office for its Master of Computing by Coursework programme. The School of Computing does not offer the Master of Computing by Research programme.

French students pursuing research programme will be conferred Diplome d'Ingenieur (from French Grandes Ecoles), and thus completing their pursuit in French DDP, by taking one of the following routes:

  • They fulfill the requirements for Master of Science (6 modules and a thesis) and graduate with an MSc degree.
  • They pass the qualifying examination and officially accept the offer to the PhD programme. Upon accepting to the PhD programme, they are considered as completed their French DDP programme, and they will be subjected to the rules and regulation governed by the PhD programme.

All applications must be submitted through the NUS Registrar’s Office online application system available at:

The application for admission to our graduate programme by French students will be closed annually on the following dates. All applications must reach NUS by the following deadlines:

Intake MSc by Research Programmes:
NUS Semester 1 (August - December) 1 November of the previous year
NUS Semester 2 (January - May) 15 May of the previous year 
Intake MSc by Coursework Programmes:
NUS Semester 1 (August - December) 1 March of the same year
NUS Semester 2 (January - May) 1 September of the previous year

Students must print a copy of the completed online form, together with the required documents and submit the application package, through your FDDP coordinator for the Double Degree, by the closing date to the NUS FDDP office.

Applicants applying to coursework programmes are required to submit proof of their English proficiency, such as TOEFL or IELTS. Applicants applying to research based programmes are NOT required to submit their proof of English proficiency.

Please note that the administrative fees for all FDDP applicants are waived. There is no need to complete the section on application fee payment on the online portal submission.

The above administration procedure is necessary to facilitate entry into the graduate programme.

Application Outcome

Applicants will be informed of the outcome of their applications following the timelines below for the respective intakes. While French students are among the best in France and it is preferably that their applications being considered favourably, the Graduate Division/Office has the authority to set its own selection criteria for these applications.
The outcome of your application will be available in:

  • May (for intake commencing August in the following year)
  • October (for intake commencing January in the following year)
